In an instant everything can change,
You go from being normal to feeling so strange.
The days that have passed are but a ghost,
Haunting you from its far away post.
Reminding your heart of days it once lived in,
Your skin used to be thicker, but now its so thin.
Snapshots of memories mingle with today,
Real life in color with the past overlapped gray.
It is felt throughout humanity deep in a person,
The melancholy echoes of an old life arisen.
Only one antidote seems to remain,
Love is the answer to knock down and reframe.
Hope seems to come in the smallest of ways,
Soon you realize you aren't trapped in former days.
Today is the tomorrow you hoped for yesterday,
You really are going to be okay.
Step out from the shadows, come and see,
Today is the day you have finally been set free.

A Far Off Day.
Out of this valley I walk alone,
Indeed its apparent my soul has grown.
Out of its trembling and fearful state
Upon these floors I once laid paralyzed and prostrate.
Now I walk so tall and sure,
To an untrained eye they would claim I found a cure.
But truth be told it has been a year to the day,
When time stood still in panic and disarray.
My enemies thought I would crumble and die,
I now know that evil will always lie.
The journey has been hard and trying to my heart,
Now the "one day" is here and I get a new start.
To turn back around and survey my former prison,
Its dumbfounding and proves my king has risen.
Much life has come from a terrible place,
Again it proves the beauty of grace.
Armed with the tools I worked hard to earn,
Alas, for spring I no longer have to yearn.
