To complete the world with its crowning jewel,

Or the birds of the air with their lovely sound.

Deep sleep took him to a world unknown,
Soon he wasnt all alone.
Flesh of his flesh she arose breathtaking and true,
This feeling he felt was something completely new.
To this beautiful creature he spoke so tender to his bride,

An Intriguing Sort of Man

Your mind is something so complex yet free,
Sometimes I wish that's how I could be.
Letting thoughts stroll the confines of your conscious space,
It seems to spring forth authentic emotion on your face.
I know we just met not very long ago,
But your boldness sends my heart leaping to and fro.
When one person sees another break beyond the chains,
And take risk even with the threat of rejection pains.
Hope starts to leak out of cracks not yet filled up,
And the Lord gives you an overflowing cup.
Please never give up on who you are,
Because God will always consider you up to par.
It doesn't take an observant person to know,
That guys like you make love grow.
Keep walking and living to the beat of your own drum,
Its so interesting to see who you are and where you come from.
Your worth is definitely a great and mighty sum...

One of Those Nights

The mist rolls over the sleepy town,
All is quiet, there isn't a sound.
Out from the shadows walks a young girl alone,
She looks like a princess in disguise trying to find her throne.
The glory of her rule has been stripped away,
As she walks through the gloom she remembers herself in another day.
Glancing back and forth she looks for the danger,
She has her guard up and is cautious against any stranger.
The girl use to be beautiful its true,
But someone stole her innocence and now she cant go back to being new.
The pain and sorrow leak across her young but worn face,
She dreams of those former nights of diamonds and lace.
Now she longs to keep the clothes on her back,
That's what happens when pride takes over and humility is what you lack.
She will never return to the dark place where she once sat,
She has traded her tiara for an ugly old hat.
By herself she is aware of the loneliness she feels,
So in the cool of night she stops and goes to kneel.
She cries and breaks the silence of the street she was upon,
Light is starting to bring a new dawn.
Redemption comes to those who give all of it up,
Sometimes God has us take a lofty cup.
From an untrained eye she may seem sad,
But in reality her heart is pure gold and something to be had.
Nothing in the world is worth more than a humbled and joyful soul,
Pleasing the king is her one and only goal.
She gave up her riches and fame,
And let her Lord bring meaning in his name.
She is rescued from the darkness that surrounds,
From her only love and light abound.
Letting go of what is behind her and forward she goes,
Where she goes next only her Savior knows.
Digging up buried secrets and lies from her past,
And replanting truths that will last.
In her ear she hears her King begin to sing,
"Come be safe under my mighty wing".
Grace to you my daughter, princess, friend,
To you my dear my life I will lend.
You fight bravely for the heart of your king today,
And you will forever hear him say.
"Be with me and live in perfect peace,
Your pain, sorrow and sin will cease.
Give up the keys to the false kingdom you built here,
And in my kingdom you will have nothing to fear.
Fret not my sweet girl, forever and always I will be near my dear".

Comprehending the Unthinkable.

My heart is like a lock and key,
There is only one person who makes me free.
He stands me firm in times of doubt,
Even if my soul is dry in drought.
He caresses my heart every night as I fall asleep,
He whispers promises he never fails to keep.
As days roll by with the relentlessness of the future time,
Not loving him is my only crime.
I cant see where my life would be without him,
Most likely ugly and rather grim.
How can I keep from sharing this hope Ive found?
In my heart its steadfastly bound.
So here I leave with a smile on my face,
Because I dwell on amazing grace.
All he ever does is please us,
Yes indeed, his name is Jesus. <3

Real.

How can I run when I cant stand?
Where do I go when I feel there is no where to land?
Im a wandering soul without a map,
It feels as though I never finish a full lap.
Up and down my thoughts constantly change,
I feel so alone and really strange.
Is it normal to struggle with one's self?
There is a war waged between sickness and health.
The small voice deep inside my heart,
Faintly whispers dreams of a new start.
Away from the pain and sorrow that reside here,
I ache knowing I lost everything I held dear.
There arent many moments that pass in a day,
When I dont think "Am I going to be okay?"
I dont know how long Ill be grounded in place,
Or when I will be released to race.
Free in the joy that life can in fact give,
One day I hope to feel like I actually live.

A Girl I Once Knew.

You and I could be the greatest love story to ever be told,
a heart evoking tale of how one man became bold.
I could hold your hand when the wind starts to blow,
and Ill talk a lot so we can walk slow.
You can take me to a movie and then maybe dinner,

I sit and wait for her to come,
My heart is full and beats with the rhythm of the drum.
Along she walks through the door,
Instantly I miss having her in my life more.
She is always so gentle and full of grace,
I watch as Jesus' love lights up her face.
You'd never know it from looking at her from afar,
But there have been wounds and many a scar.
I used to envy her for her beauty and charm,
Now I'm just so happy to have her as a friend, nothing to harm.
We walk through life along a different path,
Its not logical like science or math.
Id try to explain it to you if I knew how,
Instead to God my head will bow,
In earnest thanksgiving for what he has done,
He has given me such a friend and a race we will run.
Never again will I claim to be alone,
She;s with me always or at least near a phone,
Sometimes two people are divine appointment prone.

For Her...

As a child we come into this world,
And as a child we will leave.
Sweet innocence is found in her eyes,
Her warmth is such a sweet suprise.
Her love is fading and going fast,
But she built something that did last.
Their union stood the test of time,
It was easy like a catchy rhyme.
Death is a bittersweet friend,
Taking our loves into their final end.
Releasing them from the prisons of their bodys,
Its nothing glamourous or gaudy.
You've never seen a more lovely wife,
Who loved that man all her life.
Sixty three years of seasons come and gone,
And in the blink of an eyes its the rising of a new dawn.
How will she go on after he comes to pass,
Our lives are truly but grass.
We are lush and full of color and shine,
Then we wither and fade and meet our divine.
It seems so cruel to see him leave her here,
Of a broken heart she may join him I fear.
But those left here to grieve will always know,
Together they came and together they go.

James 5: 13-20

All you can do is pray,
Jesus, in you I will stay.
When trials come and all seems lost,
I will still follow you at any cost.
Giving up all that I know,
God take my heart and let it grow.
When im weary and im weak,
You told me you bless the meek.
Here is the joy I feel so deep,

Though I dont always understand you,

I will walk beside you when all my friends,
Turn from you and walk to their ends.
Together we will cry for them so dear,
A life without you is what I fear.
Peace that transcends time, space and circumstance,
From the joy of knowing Christ I will dance.
Nothing can keep us apart any longer,
Everyday with you I learn and get stronger.
I wont depend upon what makes sense,
Even though the complexity is dense.
Give me eyes to see you ahead,
Give me faith fo raise the dead.
Give me hands to do your will,
Give me abundance so others I can fill.
Its so amazing what you have already given me,
God, you gave us Jesus so the whole world can be free.

Cafe Creatures

She sits there alone reading her book,
The boy at the next table cant help but look.
They play the eye catching game ever so well,
Her eyes are deep and lovely and have a story to tell.
Of adventures that linger in her memories there,
When people judge her she really doesnt care.
How can mere strangers get the whole picture,
At her table she seems a permanent fixture.
Visions of loved ones come and gone away,
Flash backs of how she wished so many would stay.
Along all people go and depart on their path,
She hums a simple tune to forget their cruel wrath.
Its difficult to say if the boy staring will ever know.
Where this girl has been or where she will go.
She smiles ever so slightly knowing she got his attention,
How handsome he was is worth it to mention.
Amidst a crowded room these two souls dance together,
She breaks the fast moving trains of their minds with a simple "I love this weather"
And then it begins...

Reflections of 2012

Here we are at the end of another year,
It was a year I lost everything I once held dear.
2012 made me face and conquer my every fear,
Now we close this long chapter of my life,
I move forward no longer a wife.
I carry lessons I learned along the way,
Im now grateful for mercy renewed each day.
I learned how to love and hold things with open hands,
Jesus will always hold me up as long as he stands.
I dont know what the next chapter will hold,
All I know is I need to be bold.
My God is faithful to all the promises he made,
So I will do my best to live this life he has laid.
Onward and upward is how I must go,
It doesnt mean I dont grieve and miss things ever so.
Lord, help me through this next season ahead,
Without you I am nothing and I am dead.
Take this life and let it be,
Take my life so I can be free.

New Beginning

Here we are at the start of a new year,
I decided to get creative and start a blog here.
I will post my thoughts, feelings and poems,
I hope your mind wanders and I hope it roams.
Sometimes it will contain stories from my life,
The glory, shame and even strife.
The beauty of written word is it takes you to another place,
It transcends culture, race, distance and space.
So if you think my work may be something to interest you,
Or you just want to laugh at something new.
Stop on by and spend awhile,
